Sec. of Energy Chu visits EnerTrac
US Secretary of Energy Dr. Steven Chu along with NH Governor John Lynch and University of New Hampshire President Mark Huddleston visited EnerTrac Thursday, April 28th in conjunction with the NH 2011 Green Launching Pad Awards presented to promising NH based companies engaged in reducing the carbon footprint.
As one of the 2010 Award winners, EnerTrac was chosen for the site of this year's awards because of their outstanding growth and ability to help fuel dealers reduce their cost of delivery and related CO2 emissions by 30-40%.
Dr. Chu toured the EnerTrac facility to understand exactly how this technology benefits the fuel dealer. Because the EnerTrac monitors report the usage every hour, Dr. Chu encouraged EnerTrac to make the data available through multiple portals so that the home owner themselves could see the usage by hour. This would both strengthen the homeowner's relationship with their fuel dealer and could in itself encourage conservation.
